What Floorcard keeps, and what it does not
Short version: no accounts, no names, no email, no tracking, no ads. Notebook text is encrypted with your private link.
Remarks builder, practice clock, speaker card
What you type is used to answer that one request (count the words, set the clock, lay out the card) and is not stored. The live clock on the page runs in your browser.
Issue notebooks
- A notebook is reached only by its private link. We store the link's SHA-256 fingerprint, not the link.
- Issue names, places, entries and drafts are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) with a key made from your link and a server key. Someone with a copy of our database alone cannot read them. We cannot recover a lost link.
- We also store, unencrypted: each issue's status and "look again" date, each entry's date, kind and stage, each draft's word count, time limit and pace, and when the notebook was created and last opened.
- Delete an issue, a draft, an entry or the whole notebook at any time; it is removed at once. A notebook nobody opens for about 18 months is deleted automatically.
Addresses, logs and cookies
- To limit abuse, we count requests per day using a salted fingerprint of your internet address; the counters are deleted after 3 days.
- The web server keeps standard access logs (address, time, page requested, browser), which include notebook links as part of the page address. Our own application log masks notebook links.
- Pages with a form set one security cookie (to stop forged form posts). There are no tracking or advertising cookies and no third-party scripts, fonts or analytics.
Backups
Floorcard backs up this site's database every night. A deleted notebook can remain in those backups until they roll off (the site's own nightly copies are kept 14 days).
Who to ask
Floorcard is run by WeldonPC.com. Floorcard is not affiliated with the City of Garfield Heights or Garfield Heights City Council and shares nothing with them.
